Earth Day

April 22, 2020

What are some ways you and your children are honoring Earth Day? Are you doing art crafts? Will you plant a flower or tree? How about making a homemade bird feeder for the birds? There are so many ways to celebrate our planet on this day, but here are five fun Earth Day toddler crafts and activities for you to try at home.

1. Earth Day Sensory Bin

If you love sensory play ideas, this Earth Day Sensory Bin is perfect for celebrating our planet and exploring fun textures. For the sensory bin filler, use food coloring to dye the shaving cream half blue and half green. Add some land and water animals to the colored shaving cream to make this activity more educational and fun to explore. This is a quick and easy activity to prepare and loads of fun for your little ones!

Got any large containers you are going to throw away? What about cardboard boxes? Save these items to make some drums and add some string to the sides so they can hang around their shoulders! Kids love containers, especially the younger ones. These items are for marching bands or family jam sessions! Grab some sticks outside for the drum sticks and sing your favorite songs.
