Dinosaur Painting

January 28, 2020

Dinosaurs are great am I right? Don’t all kids love them at some point? My toddler is obsessed right now so I’m following his interests and it led me to this dinosaur painting idea. It’s fun to come up with different ways to paint by not using the traditional paintbrush. Kids love to use new and exciting things that follow their interests and when you add in things like dinosaurs to paint with, kids have more of an opportunity for imaginative play.

What Do I Need For Dinosaur Painting?

This activity is super easy and quick to prep for times where you are stuck and need to get an activity in front of your kids fast. All you need are some play dinosaurs, paint, and construction paper.

  • Dinosaurs I found big dinosaurs at Walmart for $1 apiece in the store section
  • Construction Paper You can find at any store really
  • Paint I used washable paint
  • Tape (To tape the construction paper down)

How To Get The Most Out Of This Activity

There is really no specific goal in this activity other than letting your child take the lead and use their imagination. To get the most out of this activity you could talk to your child about the different types of dinosaurs they are playing with as well as the colors of paint. Here they are learning about color recognition and dinosaurs and also developing social skills talking with you or a caregiver.
