DIY Nature Crowns

February 4, 2020

Bringing play outdoors today with these DIY nature crowns. This is an activity inspired by TinkerGarten an amazing place for outdoor inspiration. You can also sign up for outdoor classes to join other families with kids and a local TinkerGarten leader. I highly recommend checking them out its an amazing experience!

What Are Nature Crowns And How Do I Make Them?

First, you’ll need to go on a little walk with your little ones and find some lovely items that nature provides all around us. (Grass, leaves, flowers, etc.) Then it’s time to put together a “crown” and tape the items on to it. I used double-sided tape for this so it’s easy for the kids tape on their nature items. After that, just stick them on their heads! I had a mirror close by to show them, or you could use your phone to show them. They LOVE them!

How To Get The Most Out Of This Activity

Really this activity is meant to explore nature and the children appreciate and what the discovered and collected that just have to wear it. It’s so fun to see their expressions and its rewarding to see your child learning and proud of the work they put in to make such beautiful things. Check out this other outdoor activity Painting With Mud you can do in your own backyard as well.
