Monster Truck Sensory Bin

August 20, 2019

Monster trucks and some dried cranberry beans, who knew? This sensory play activity today was based around the idea of monster trucks on the rocky road. Therefore this led to my plan for a monster truck sensory bin. There are crazy amounts of ideas and themes for sensory bins to put together for your child to get them working with their senses.

What Are Sensory Bins?

Sensory bins are simple activities you can put together that are quick and easy to prepare, and you can use different variations to the bins. In other words, sensory bins create endless amounts of imagination and help’s work on fine motor skills and of the five senses, touch as they feel what is in the bin. Today we worked with some beans and monster trucks to give it a rocky road type feel. Wow, was I impressed by how long my toddler was engaged in this, almost his brother’s full nap!

How Do I Plan For Sensory Bins?

Basing activities around your child’s current interests are great ways to make learning fun. As toddlers, right now it’s all about their senses. My two-year-old is currently interested in everything trucks. (Go figure..boys will be boys.) Therefore I chose to put together this monster truck activity today. Try to incorporate more variations of sensory bins when you cam. They’re a ton of fun and hold your kid’s attention for large amounts of time. Look below for the materials I used for this activity.

How To Promote Sensory Play in Your Child’s Day

As a SAHM you sometimes run out of ideas to keep learning fun and interesting. You don’t have to make planning activities complicated or expensive. You can plan learning activities in a way your child will enjoy for instance this monster truck sensory bin or “Deep Sea Sensory Bin”.

Use tools and toys that you have in your house to create simple sensory play activities. Don’t break the bank on toys you think will help your child’s development. I found the Amazon to create this monster truck sensory bin.
