This turkey sensory activity is perfect for the month of November and celebrating Thanksgiving. Using recycled cardboard, colored rice, glue, and markers you can create your own festive turkey sensory activity at home. November is a great month to remember what to be thankful for and celebrate the beautiful fall colors, cozy sweaters, and family.
What You Will Need
Next time you have an extra cardboard box keep it! These make for so many amazing craft and activity ideas that you can use from just recycled cardboard. If you have a hot glue gun, this will probably work best for this activity. All you need is a piece of cardboard, some markers, dyed rice, glue, and some scoops or mini pitchers.
Things To Talk About
Starting to talk about why being thankful is important at a young age is really beneficial to your little one’s development. It teaches them to connect their feelings to situations and control their emotions independently. Talking daily about what we are thankful for and why it’s important to give back is a great way way to teach young children about morals and being a good neighbor. During this activity, you can talk about what we are grateful for and what sharing looks like as you take turns with a sibling or friend to fill up each feather.
